Victor Blackful, best known as the dynamic On-Air personality, “The Dizz,” owes all his success to his early passion for being a House Music DJ at an early age. Throughout high school, he frequented parties featuring DJs such as Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, Lil’ Louis, and many others. He finally had a chance to break onto the scene at age 20 as the Friday and Saturday resident DJ at The Ultimate. It was that career move that launched his radio debut on WJPC as an On-Air Personality and Mix DJ in 1993.
“The Dizz” has been a driving force behind Chicago’s music scene since the early 1990s. During his tenure from 1995 to 2007, at Chicago’s largest urban radio station, WGCI 107.5FM, he co-hosted their #1 ranked prime-time evening slot, entertaining thousands weekly with in-depth celebrity interviews, lively commentary, and phone-in conversation.
“The Dizz” has endorsed and promoted products for corporations including Coca Cola, Reebok, Bally Total Fitness, iTunes, and U.S. Cellular. A prominent figure in the music industry, he has hosted and promoted countless concerts and events, appeared on national and local television shows, such as the Well and Fitness Segment on NBC Dateline in 2005 and the Debt Diet segment of the Oprah Show. He has also been featured in several print medias such as Jet, Ebony, and the Chicago Tribune. He is a recipient of numerous industry and community awards, with a keen talent for reaching broad populations.
